Heights Baptist Church Remodel:
Myself, Jody and one of our fabulous designers, Catherine were asked to do the selections for the re-design of Height’s Baptist Church sanctuary. They were looking for a more modern, up to date look. To start we painted the entire ceiling and back drop behind the stage black. (See below) This does two things first it draws your eye right to the focal point the cross in the back of the stage. Secondly, it allows you to concentrate on what is happening on the stage instead of looking at all the light cans, sound screens and distractions.

We also changed the wall color to a richer color called Quiver Tan by Sherwin Williams. The carpet we replaced with Effervescent Bubble and then not pictured we coordinated the connecting room in carpet Atoll Stripe. The sound panels on the wall were covered in a fabric the exact shade of Universal Khaki by Sherwin Williams.

Next was the stage. The church has a removable piece that they use for everyday service, but remove for weddings so the entire staircase is exposed, when the piece is missing. I really wanted to showcase the stage in the sanctuary, by adding a darker wood floor and stain to the baptistery. At first, we weren’t sure if the removable piece would be possible but we figured it out and it turned out fantastic.
We are thrilled with the outcome as are the members at Height’s Baptist. We are doubly honored b/c the church just asked us to come back and start on their youth sanctuary!
All construction was installed by Palcon Construction and floors were selected at Texan Floor Service.
